Entry Doors have either a Full Wood Frame or a Steel L-Frame

Full Wood Frame
Full Wood Frame doors are designed to fit New Construction or Replacement openings. Replacing an existing door with a Full Wood Frame door will typically require removal of the old door frame, threshold, interior trim and the exterior trim or brickmold. The standard Full Wood Frame depth is 4-9/16" but optional frame depths up to 12-9/16" are available. Unless ordered with optional Wood Frame Cladding the Full Wood Frames are primed only. Rot resistant Wood Frame and brickmold is treated with PineGuard™ and carries a Lifetime Warranty.

Replacement Steel L-Frame
Steel L-Frame doors are designed to fit into an existing wood door frame and are not recommended for New Construction type openings (called Rough Openings). Installing a Steel L-frame door should only require the removal of the old door slab, interior trim (if any) and the existing threshold. On finished (painted or stained) Steel L-frame doors the Steel L-frame is painted to match the inside color of the door and the aluminum weatherstripped stops are painted to match the outside color of the door.
